I grew up in an isolated, repressive community that taught children to be oppressive towards anyone different. I was training to be an alpha in a myopic, dystopian culture selfish and arrogant beyond belief. Lives were destroyed.

When I finally got out, I was told I had abandoned my peers. But I didn’t want to continue the dark legacy of oppressive ideology. I don’t want to wear the crown.

It’s not worth the weight.
